Appearance
A Japanese female dragon who looks to be about twenty.
Has waist-length golden-blonde hair (with fringe) which
is longer than all of the other characters', including
Taro's. She has narrowed yellow-gold eyes.
Has elven ears (the size of normal human ears - they
should peek out of her hair a little)
Is willowy and slim but has some slight curves, with a
well-formed chest. She is tall, and appears the same
height as Taro. Her thin eyebrows and long lashes are
darker than her hair - brown/black
She may be drawn in her typical outfit or she may be drawn
in Taro's haori. She may be drawn pregnant. She may
even be drawn in dragon form (see below)
In dragon form, Satsuki's skin is slightly green-tinged, and
her eyes take on a serpent-like appearance. Her fingers
become longer, as though with an extra joint, and she becomes
taller and leaner. She also has a pair of large bat-like black wings
and a black tail
Personality
She's not someone who'd come across as a "nice" girl.
She's capable of looking after herself, independant
and due to how cautious and guarded she is she
doesn't trust easily - though once you've earned her
trust she's fiercely loyal. She's the kind to refuse
help because she doesn't want to seem weak.
When she and Taro met she was skeptical, cutting,
critical, blunt, short-fused, and a bit of a handful.
She is not ditzy, innocent, nor naive, but rather
perceptive. Due to her disregard for 'niceties' and
dislike of small talk, she is not incredibly sociable
outside of her family circle, however she is very
compassionate and this earns her friends regardless.
Satsuki is incredibly brave, and has a dermination
to keep going, no matter what. She's no pushover.
She can be flirtatious (however that is now only
reserved for Taro), and she is no doubt what some
would call voluptious/sexy. Her fiery personality only
adds to her attractiveness. She used to be narcissistic
and arrogant, as well as even a little bitchy, before she
met Taro. However since then he's melted her heart and
she's a lot more modest than she used to be, and around
her family she is content - her personality toned down notably.
A lot of the time Satsuki does not think before she speaks
and can say things that could hurt people. She's a 'cut the
crap and go straight to the point' person and is terribly stubborn.

Appearance
A Japanese male semi-dog-demon who appears
around nineteen or twenty years of age.
He has waist-length black hair (which is shorter than
Satsuki's) with two chest-length bangs, one either side of
his face, and a fringe. He has brown eyes, and small, white
dog-ears similar to a Samoyed's or Westie's.
He also has claws on his fingers and toes, as well as slight
fangs. Taro has thick black eyebrows. He's toned, slim and
quite tall, dwarfed only by his brother-in-law, Conrad. He's
the same height as Satsuki.
Wears an outfit similar to InuYasha from InuYasha.
His pants are gathered at the bottom, and his haori/kimono
jacket may have some kind of black masculine decoration
on it. In the refs you see him wearing a white kimono -
that is his kosode, which is an under-kimono that he wears
under his red haori. He is seen in that in a lot of refs
because Satsuki is holding or wearing his haori. He should
be wearing it if she isn't. Taro is always barefoot. He hates
modern/Western clothes.
Taro may be drawn with two katanas - either both at one
hip, one at either hip, or criss-crossed across his back.
Personality
Taro is protective, cautious, quiet and defensive,
mainly due to trauma in his past that frequently torments him
and drives him on. In that respect he's determined not to
give up on surviving and tried to always put himself first,
until the time came when he had someone else to put first.
Easily-confused and even a little clumsy sometimes, Taro is
a fish out of water in the urban surroundings he lives in.
He's easy to offend and upset, and sulks all too easily, and
like Satsuki it's hard to earn his trust as he doesn't let people
get around his initially stoic guard. However, he is loyal,
merciful and a good judge of character.
When in the mood to he often puts himself down, and can
give up too easily on things if he feels he cannot or should
never acheive them- essentially, he knows to quit while he still
can. Taro is curious, very, very stubborn (which makes his
relationship with Satsuki very fiery indeed as neither like to
back down) and used to be quite arrogant and proud. However,
he is very aware of his flaws and uses arrogance to cover up
said flaws. He is strong, brave, courageous and tactful. He isn't
the kind to plunge headfirst into a battle without thinking about it
at least a little bit first, and never lets his temper get the best of
him. Taro can be quite bashful, flirtatious (towards Satsuki) and
even romantic at times. With his family he is content, calm
and incredibly family-orientated. Around Satsuki he, uh, often
has his mind in the gutter, too. He cares for his family and Suki
deeply, and often shows concern for their wellbeing. He would
defend and protect them to the death.

Appearance
A Japanese female human, Emiko is a "miko"
and inherited no demon blood from her parents, unlike
her brother, Taro. The demon blood of her parents
morphed into spiritual powers within her. She is
eighteen years old but can appear a little younger.
Has shoulder-to-chest length black hair with a fringe,
and brown eyes like her brother's. She is quite pale.
Emiko has human ears, and is average-sized, with
flattering curves and appears of average height.
Wears typical priestess garments except her pants are
purple instead of red, (these may be decorated with a
feminine/floral pattern). She even has a pair of white
hakama pants. Her purple pants have slits at the sides
that show white. Her haori is white, and she can wear a
white or purple under-kimono beaneath it. The "slits" on
her haori are about the height at which she could detach
the bottom part and then still have a short-sleeved haori
on. Like these sleeves. If she has the sleeves
short then she should be doing something "dirty", like the
laundry or washing the dishes. Otherwise they should
be long and belled. She wears tabi socks and zori sandals.
May be drawn with a bow and arrow, and a katana as well as
demonstrating spiritual powers through blue or purple 'orbs'
surrounding her. She may also be shown as though
travelling, wearing a straw hat tied under her chin.
Personality
She is shy, bashful, quiet, and very wise and
intelligent despite her age. This is because of her teachings,
she was brought up to be respectful, polite, learned and to
enjoy simple pleasures as well as to be pure and "chaste".
(However, this all changed when she met Conrad).
Caring, sweet, and a bit of a dreamer, Emiko is a hopeless
romantic and longs for her dream life with a family of her
own one day. However, she is in no rush. She is maternal,
loving, selfless, compassionate and modest. Because of her
upbringing in a shrine she is afraid of her own desires in
case they're 'impure' or 'wrong'. However, she happens to be
very, very curious and this curiosity borders on naivety and
ditziness. Emiko loves to dish out advice to those who want it,
and she's willing to sacrifice herself for others if need be. She's
upbeat, calm, content, bashful and very easily-flattered.
Emiko loves helping others, especially doing chores, and is not
materialistic in the least. She is very old-fashioned, wistful and
innocent. She used to be mournful and lonely, before Conrad
showed up. The one thing she hates? Prejudice.

Appearance
A Japanese male dragon, like his younger sister,
Satsuki. He appears to be in his early twenties.
He has snow-white hair that ranges in length but generally
falls just-below-his-ears (at the front) and around his chin
(behind his ears). He has a long fringe. His eyebrows and
lashes are black.
It's important to note that Conrad's eyes are not grey. Nor
are they violet. They are so light a lilac that they're practically
grey, but not quite. He has human-sized elven ears.
Conrad is tall and lanky (the tallest of all the characters). He
is long-legged, toned and lithe, however due to his size and
due to the fact that he doesn't like being noted for his height,
he slouches. When he walks he can either look lazy or elegant.
He has a fading tan: he used to own a beach bar and so spent
a lot of the time in the sun. He wears anything smart-casual
and only Western clothes. Suit jackets, waistcoasts, polished
shoes, trousers, boots, jeans, shirts (particularly the wrinkled
kind), ties, scarves, jumpers/sweaters, etc. His "lazy clothes"
would more likely be a baggy t-shirt and boxers or cut off shorts.
Essentially, he likes to look good.
Personality
Gallant, prince-like, charismatic, and charming, Conrad
has a handsome and disarming smile and finds it easy to make
friends and get girls. Because he likes to dress so impeccably
he seems a little narcissistic or vain, but it's actually all a
facade. He is caring, noble, gentle, loving and loyal (though
due to an incident in his past he was initially afraid of
commitment - "it's not you, it's me") He's suave, confident,
sophisticated and is a true gentleman who likes to save the
damsels in distress and serenade them with all the proper
etiquette and manners. With Emi, however, he is not acting -
and around her he is truly genuine and has even reverted to
the likes of a fumbling, shy teenager. Nevertheless, Conrad is
lazy (or maybe a better term is sloth-like), and swings from
being mature to immature quite easily. He can act like a child,
and gets bored easily, as well as being quite whiney when he
wants to be and sulking a lot.
He's protective of others but doesn't like getting into other
peoples' business unneccessarily. He's finnicky and neat with
his things, and revels in urban surroundings, always living in the
here and now and able to deal with the consequences of his
actions with a pinch of salt and a big grin. "Oh well, at least I had
fun," However, he's the kind to blot out (the bad parts of) his past
and pretend nothing ever happened, and finds it hard to open up
about what's really bothering him.

Appearance
A Japanese male human, brought back from the dead.
He appears around nineteen years old.
He has chest-length mink brown hair and - importantly -
it waves towards the bottom as though he's had his
hair in a ponytail/plaited for too long. He has smoky-grey, cold
eyes that are narrowed. Being human, he has normal ears, and
is incredibly pale -ghostlike. He appears around the same
height as Satsuki and Taro. He is thin and compact, but looks
lethal all the same. Lasuko only wears the modern get-up given
to him by Mutsumi. That and his naginata are all he owns. The
outfit consists of a suit jacket/black unbuttoned coat, no shirt
(therefore he's bare chested), dark sea-green jeans that look
rather grey, black shoes and chains, as well as a silver rosary.
He's Buddhist, so perhaps an ornament like this would suffice.
His collar could be a little popped (typically so when it's raining/dark).
He may be drawn holding/weilding a black naginata. And may also
be drawn coming out of a body-length oval-shaped portal that
looks like a black hole (except deep blue-violet and purple). It
should look like it's been ripped into the air/world itself.
Personality
Serious, quiet, nostalgic, and stoic, after what
happened to him Lasuko is aloof, bitter and tormented.
Begrudging Satsuki for something she frankly didn't do and
that he did of his own accord, he's full of hate and the desire
for revenge. Lasuko is easily manipulated if he's susceptible
to believing it, and is difficult to convince otherwise once he
believes something is true. He's determined to do whatever
it takes... until he becomes indecisive and unsure of what he
wants. Does he want to kill Satsuki? Then, pray tell, why
does he feel a surge of jealousy everytime he sees her with
Taro? Why does he dream about her, pine for her, and why is
he so wistful - wanting to be with her again? He often goes into
denial, and feels regret for what he did before though realises
that he cannot change the past. However, his motivation is
great and he will not stop until he makes Satsuki fall for him
again, even if it mens forcing her to. Despite that, he knows
deep down he can never except her for what she is, and so
remains cold, nasty, and nothing but Mutsumi's pawn who
stupidly believes that he's the victim in all of this.
His eyes are often narrowed due to his hostile/homicidal/
dangerous thoughts. He is never happy. Never content.
Never smug. Never downright sad. He is only grim and
without that spark of life.

Appearance
A Japanese female pure-blood dragon said to
be descended from a God. (Actually, she is) Due to the
purity of her blood she looks different to the other
dragons. She looks to be about seventeen/eighteen.
She has light-coloured white-blonde hair that is notably
a few shades lighter than Satsuki's. She keeps it
permanently up in a "sock" or bun decorated with either
ornamental hair-clips or 'chop-sticks'. She has dark
brown eyes, elven ears and eyebrows that extend off of
her face like whiskers. These are a few shades darker
than her hair. Mutsumi also has four filed horns that look
like diamonds of bone embedded in her forehead just
beneath her fringe and below her hairline.
This is a sign of power, due to her pure-blood. The
more horns, the more powerful. She also has an
amber tear-drop jewel embedded in her cheek beneath
her left eye. She is short, the same height as Emiko and
is petite with a small chest. Her skin is pale but not as much
as Lasuko's and about the same as Emiko's. She dresses
lavishly as a sign of her wealth as a dragon princess.
Her typical outfit is a mixture of cultures all slammed together
in one royal garment: European, Japanese, etc. She wears
a lot of expensive-looking jewellery, usually gold. The bottom
of her typical outfit should never display her feet and should
look like this.
Personality
Spoilt, bitter, and incredibly prone to fits of jealousy,
Mutsumi is the nasty and bitchy little queen-to-be of Satsuki's
home realm. She's energetic, spontaneous, and gets bored
very easily and in that sense is very much like a child. She
isn't stupid, however. She pretends to act sweet and "musical"
- even flouncing around calling Lasuko "Laa-kun" - but it's all
an act. She likes to play games with people, emotionally
torture them. Whilst she doesn't exactly think things through
(for example, she hates Satsuki because she can and that's that,
she doesn't give her a chance to redeem herself for something
she didn't even realise she was doing), she's a cunning plotter
and most important of all in the long run she gets away with it.
She's the kind to make others do her dirty work, and also one
who doesn't think of nor care as to how her actions will affect others.
She's bratty, whiney and much as she pretends to be Lasuko's friend,
however she helps him is always to do with her nasty plan. She holds
a grudge very readily, is stuck up, relentless in tasks she pursues,
active and doesn't have a shred of decency in her. Nothing is sacred
to her and people mean nothing to her - Lasuko is just a pawn,
a resource she's willing to get rid of as quicly as she brought him into
the world should he not play her game properly.
Mutsumi passionately hates Satsuki, almost without reason. She sees
her at being better than her, no matter what, and her hatred stems
from envy.

Appearance
A Japanese female dragon that looks and acts rather
more like she's a succubus. Appears around nineteen
to twenty years old. She has chest-length, thick black
hair that's layered and glamourously 'choppy'.
She has dark red eyes like garnets and elven-shaped
ears. Of average height, she is thin but curves in all
the right places with a body that could rival Satsuki's.
She is creamy pale. Unlike her siblings she can hold her
dragon, black bat-like wings in her humanoid form due
to her shapeshifting abilities. These appear the full length
of her body. She only 'wears' them every now and then,
and usually only when she's scantily clad. Maya wears
suggestive and sexy clothes that, instead of coming off
as tart-ish, come across as flattering and even 'beautiful',
despite being revealing. She should never look like a
nightwalker. She has a fondness for corsets, bustiers,
bikini tops, tunic tops, short skirts (plaited, tartan), long
skirts, belts, strap tops, leggings, waistcoats, 3/4-lengths,
stockings/fishnets, boots, capes, berets, beanies, tees and
suits/tuxedos. She wears only blacks, greys, whites, deep
reds and dark purples. (Clothing possibilities)
Personality
The embodiment of a female preying mantis, Maya
is vain and narcissistic, and if anyone were to tell her she were
beautiful her likely response would be "I know". She's
mischievious and likes to make trouble, and is a bitchy, nasty,
piece of work who easily holds a grudge and is incredbly
short-fused. An angry girl due to let downs in her past, she
doesn't trust anyone but herself (or so she thinks, but she
places a lot of trust in her sister, Ai) and doesn't like to rely on
anyone or anything. She's antisocial, and doesn't cope well
with emotions. She doesn't feel comfortable in a normal,
happy environment. Nevertheless she's an attention-whore.
Hot-headed and ruthless, because of her cutting and critical
nature (traits she has in common with her half-sibling, Suki)
she tends to start fights or arguments or make people feel
very uncomfortable. She's easily-disgusted or displeased,
and is generally arrogant and manipulative but in thelong-run
cold-hearted, uncaring and stoic. Maya is cunning and
independant, confident in herself and her abilities. She
knows that she's sexy and vivacious and uses these
attributes and her flirtatious nature to her advantage when it
comes to men. She's a maneater, and worst of all, a
heartbreaker, and she does it all for fun. However, Maya is
lazy and does not believe in working to get things, so she
also uses men for their money and gifts they shower onto her.
She likes danger and likes people to fear and respect her.

Appearance
A Caribbean male demon that looks to be around
twenty-three years old. Nia is darkly-tanned, and has
black hair that he always wears in a low ponytail. He
has rather messy bangs where it looks as though he
didn't tie it back very neatly. He has amber eyes,
however most of his eye is pupil. He has elven ears
similar to a dragons'. Nia is almost the same height as
Conrad, though a little shorter. He's usually found to be
smoking a cigarette (bad habit) and wears smart-casual
clothes. Similar to Conrad, but also similar to Lasuko.
Nia would wear something like this, as well as jeans with
chains, hooded-jumpers, long-sleeved tees or shirts (he
doesn't like short sleeve and likes wrinkled shirts), casual
suits and ties. He wears shoes, and untypically trainers.
He'd only wear greens, navies, blacks, greys and whites.
He also would not wear a tee that mixed these colours,
as he likes to keep things plain.
Personality
Nia comes across as generally friendly, charming, and
flirtatious to those who don't know him well. However,
whilst he remains these things, he also has a dark side.
Nia can be incredibly short-fused and his fierce loyalty
and love of helping others is not always a good thing
when he'd kill for some. When he's angered or
provoked he becomes snappish, blunt, stoic and mean,
whereas generally he can flit between somber and
quiet to the life of the party. Nia is very defensive,
and doesn't like people knowing what's bothering him
or what's on his mind. He's a bit of an enigma and hard
to understand. Just when you think you know him, he
goes and does something completely disarming.
Nia's a bit of a wanderer. He lives in the here and now
and doesn't think about the future, and is a bit of a
risk-taker (though unlike Conrad he can't just let things
go and accept consequences - if things don't go his way
then he gets angry) Nevertheless, Nia is confident,
stubborn and can be a bit of show-off, yet at times
he can be distant and brooding.

Appearance
A Japanese little girl, Noriko is the eldest daughter of Taro
and Satsuki. She's a mix of demon, human and dragon.
She may be drawn as a newborn up until early- or mid-
childhood. She is one year older than her brother, Koto.
Noriko has what would be considered a long mop of hair
for a baby. When she was born she had a wad of thick,
dark hair already covering her head, and by the time she
was one it was already mid-cheek length. In her early/mid
childhood she'd have chin-length black hair that appears
as though it's long at front and short at the back. It's
naturally a bit of a mess. She does not often wear clips in
her hair, especially beneath her ears, as they would tickle
and irritate. Noriko has golden eyes like her mother's and
small white dog ears, like her fathers'. She would wear
anything from here and is quite girly. She would
wear hoodies with "kitty" ears on the hood, as they'd have
space for her own ears. As a small baby she would wear
baby-gros and dungarees. She should never wear anything
"lolicon"-ish, extravagant or costumey. What would you dress
your own child in in the real world?
Personality
Noriko is a sweet, 'daddy's princess' kind of girl. She's clingy
to her mother and aunt, does her best to look good in her
daddy's eyes and teases her little brother though loves him
dearly. She can be rather adorably stubborn, affectionate,
and whilst she acts like a little angel she can be quite
mischievious and adventurous at times. Grows up to be quite
brave and intelligent, she soon gets over the typical fear of
monsters-under-the-bed to the point where she helps Koto
and 'beats them up herself'. She can be cheeky, though in
a sweet way and certainly not to the point where she answers
back. She is playful, energetic, light-hearted, giggly, and
bubbly and generally a happy and polite child. She was
raised to be well-mannered however is shy in public.
Despite the fire she has within her, inherited from both of her
parents, and her inability to back down and her relentess
attitude- it is important to note that she is certainly not a
tomboy. She'd often be found sticking her tongue out or
trying to look innocent.

Appearance
A Japanese little boy, Koto is the son of Taro and
Satsuki, and their second-born. He is one year younger
than Noriko, and may be drawn as a newborn up until
his early- or mid-chilhood. As a newborn Koto had
very thin hair upon his head, slight traces of black but
also, centered, a patch of blonde. His parents thought
this to be "lanugo" and expected this to grow out as
he grew, however it only grew more prominent and
eventually became a bang of blonde in amongst spiky,
contrasting black hair. Koto has brown eyes, like his
father's, and has elven-like ears that he inherited
from his mother. Koto wears boyish Western clothes-
t-shirts, jeans/cut-offs, shorts, sneakers, and scarves.
He, however, may also be found wearing something
not dissimilar to a "karate" uniform or something similar
to his aunt Emiko's outfit, but with blue hakama pants.
Personality
As a young child, Koto is mischievious, cheeky
(in the same way his sister is) as well as playful. However,
he's a bit of a terror and equally a bit a handful due to him
being a bundle of energy. Eager to please his father, he
spends a lot of time by his side as he grows. He is happy,
content, a bit of plotter and incredbly active. He adventures
a lot with his elder sister as he's curious about everything,
and perceptive too. As he grows, however, he becomes
quiet, serious, and even a little solemn. Remaining
attached to his father's hip, he finds himself intent on
becoming strong to protect the younger siblings that are
coming after him. Often foun with his arms folded, upset
that a mischievious plan has been foiled or
sticking out his tongue.

Taro and Satsuki - info about the mated couple
When Taro and Satsuki met it was awkward for the both of them. Neither were particularly sociable or enjoyed opening up, neither had any friends and neither were particularly looking for love. Or at least, neither admitted it. Due to their mutual fiery personalities they would end up rowing often and didn't seem to get on at all, in fact, they seemed to pick at one another. Until they sat down, opened up and realised that they were too perfect for each other that it was almost untrue.
The words were "I don't want to be alone anymore", and that was it. They quickly fell in love - a deep, 'soulmates' kind of love - no one could ever pull them out of it from that moment on. They believe they were fated to be together.
Taro makes Satsuki feel like a better person, him being in her life changed her almost completely, and for the better. Therefore, the best quote to apply would be: "I love you, not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you." (Roy Croft) Satsuki, too, softened Taro's heart and he finally feels that his life has a purpose- that she gave him that reason to keep trying and struggling for a little longer. For the first time in his life he can relax and feel loved and safe.
It wasn't long before they both realised they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together, though they always knew theirs would not be just a short-lived relationship. Taro claimed Suki as his 'mate', his one and only, and it wasn't long before little Noriko came along. Despite this being in human terms 'out of wedlock' to them it wasn't as they're mated, and in their terms it means the same as to be married. However, Satsuki just wished to confirm their union with a human marriage, despite not being human herself, and so they're engaged. ... it was a big surprise after that to find Koto was on the way too. Before Koto was born, the two settled down with Noriko in a little house on a hill, only later to be joined by their son and bombarded by their siblings.
They can occasionally have little tiffs but they never last long.
Taro can't bear to be away from Suki at any moment , and sticks to her side like glue. If he were to lose her, Taro would be driven mad, literally, and be overcome by his own demons. He would kill, kill, kill until no one was left, himself included. She keeps him under control, safe and content. After all, she gave him, and is, his family.
Satsuki, likewise, could not bear to live without him. He makes her feel complete and 'clean'. She feels like she can turn her back on her past and move forward to find her own happiness at last. And with him, she has.
Family - household interactions
Emiko didn't really enjoy living at the Tavern, amongst people and drama who/which she could hardly raise her voice above. And so one day she turned up on her brother's doorstep and humbly asked for a place to stay in return for her performing household duties. Not wanting to turn her away, Satsuki and Taro took her in.
The trouble with Emiko is that she's always been too curious for her own good. Which led to some awkward situations where she'd walk in on her brother and sister-in-law "in the act", or asking some embarrassing questions about it. This began to make Suki feel wearier and wearier around her, to the point that she tried to avoid her for fear of the barrage of questions. And Suki's strained relationship with her was not made better when Emiko began to take her household duties further as to be a "nanny" when required, and seeming to be a much more successful mother figure than Satsuki. Suki was envious of Emiko's purity, innocence, naivety and abilities. However, over time, when she'd gotten used to having her around, she no longer felt rumpled or unhappy in her presence, and now sees her as her sister. She doesn't know what she would do without her now.
Taro loves his sister dearly, and defends her even against Satsuki. Despite he and Emiko not having spent a lot of their time together, as they'd been seperated since they were very small children, they support each other and are quite close. However, I suppose Emiko would be more likely to confide in Satsuki than Taro, and Taro to Satsuki too.
Emiko is very grateful to be allowed to stay and only feels worse when they refuse to let her do too much work. She enjoys helping with the running of the household.
Not long after Koto was born, Conrad threw himself on his sister's doorstep too, looking for a place to stay "for only a little while" while he sorted out his life and got his bearings. Or so he said, but a little while turned into much, much longer. Why? Because he and Emiko fell for each other during his stay, and so Conrad did not want to shift from his secure family unit into an unreliable existence of skedaddling around from place to place. Satsuki pretends that she and Conrad are not close, when really they always have been. However both feel they know each other better than they actually do, and so in some cases do not have faith in each other, i.e. when Lasuko was revived, Conrad believed Satsuki still loved him as 'he was around to see the effect he'd had on her'. He was wrong. Likewise, Satsuki didn't believe he could settle down with Emiko as 'she'd seen him pick up women and drop them like lightning in his time'. She was wrong.
Conrad may seem on the fringe of the family and just more like a 'lodger' than anything, but he loves spending time with his neice and nephew, as well as loves to watch over his "little" sister, as he always swore he would do.
Extended Family - feelings toward half-siblings
The reason Conrad changed his name, is protective of his sister and tries to blot out his past is his father, Haru. The worst part of it all is that he doesn't truly want to forget him, just what he did. He loved him, he saw him as his hero, and yet because Haru was prone to emotional instability, he flit back and forth between Ayumi, the mother of Conrad and Satsuki, and Maia, the mother of Ai and Maya. It was not planned, it was not meant maliciously. Ai and Maya's conceptions were only moments of desperation and loneliness when Haru felt he had lost his beloved Ayumi. The second time, he really had.
Conrad was his first born, his beloved son, but after he was born Ayumi grew increasingly ill until she was sent away for an unforseen amount of time. Maia showed up not long after to inform Haru that Ayumi was dying. With no sign of her returning and after a couple of months passed, Haru and Maia grew close. And then, after a 'mistake', Ai was conceived.
Unexpectedly, Ayumi returned, healthier but still a ghost of her former self. She was shell-shocked to learn about Ai but Haru swore that he and Maia had no real relationship, and so she bore him Satsuki. Ayumi died holding her newborn baby in her arms. Hysterical and desperate, Haru returned to Maia and Maya came along soon after.
Maia did not want Haru to be actively a "father" to her children, and the feeling was mutual. She brought them up alone, with him visiting as nothing more than a paternal figure.
Conrad grew up loathing Ai and Maya (who were not told that the man who frequently visited them was actually their father, and his children their half-siblings), and Conrad was the only one who knew the truth until gradually Ai realised it for herself. Then he began to see her as a friend, at first never a sister, and he grew close to her while Suki grew close to her "friend" Maya. This came with complications. As Maya came of age she began to crush on Conrad, and as she confessed she was devestated to learn that she'd developed a crush on her half-brother. This was what started her downward spiral into what she is today.
Satsuki was the last to find out the truth, only discovering it recently. She was rather content with the news, seeing Ai as a sister anyway, however none too pleased that her rival was actually her half-sister.
Maya and Satsuki share a mutual hate that will never be appeased. The two are always at each other's throats whenever they meet.
Satsuki sees Ai as a mother figure, as Ai tended to her after Lasuko killed her. Likewise, Ai wants to protect Satsuki and thinks of her fondly. Conrad actually does see Ai as his sister, and loves and respects her, though he does not see too much of her. Also, if he were to see her on the street, he would probably just nod in acknowledgement, but internally would smile.
Maya and Ai used to be close, but their relationship was sabotaged when Maya became bitter and cruel. However Maya does not hate Ai, she loves her and would strive to anything to protect her if Ai were in danger. Ai would do the same too. She only wishes she could reconnect with Maya and connect her with Suki again too, but that dream is impossible.
Conrad and Maya have nothing to do with each other. They act like they do not know each other and both have managed to blot out the past so well that they forget each other exist most of the time. If Maya were to see him now, she would act cool but hold her breath until she could leave his presence. She feels no shame for crushing on him all those centuries ago, more so she wonders how she ever could, as he's "so not her type" and her "god-damned relation".
satsuki x lasuko - a doomed and imagined 'love' from the past
Satsuki stumbled upon Lasuko when she was around sixteen years old, in age and appearance. She was naive, innocent and young, and did not truly believe that humans would treat her too differently because of what she was. Discovering an eighteen year old man sprawled, dying, at the edge of her village she found herself desperate to do something. Helping him to her home, it became apparent the man didn't even know who he was, where he had come from and how he had got there, and no wonder considering the severe-looking blow he appeared to have taken to the head. When he was fully-conscious, he consulted with Satsuki and they decided on his name as Lasuko.
He was a highly superstitious man, and swore blind that demons had come for him and had stolen his mind and memories. His fear of inhuman beings in general when Satsuki probed him alarmed her, and as a result she refused to tell him she was a dragon, going to great lengths to hide her ears from view.
She accepted him into her life, and found a home for him near her own. Soon the two fell in love.
When Satsuki turned seventeen, Lasuko proposed marriage. However at this stage he had become a mercenary, and was needed elsewhere. He promised that when he returned, they would be wed. Satsuki waited for him with baited breath, arguing with herself as to whether to tell him the truth about what she was when he returned.
The morning after he returned she told him... and she died for it.
So appalled and dismayed that he had his "heart captured by a demon" (it's always been a common misconception with humans that dragons are demons), his fears overcoming him, he impaled her with his naginata. At first a million thoughts were running through his head, that she might have been the creature that stole his mind, that she didn't truly love him because beasts could not love, but his last thought as he slay her was that he was saving her- ridding her of whatever possession had come over her. He uttered to her that he'd save her, that he would always love her, and yet she was slipping away in his arms. So overcome with grief, Lasuko ran before Conrad could find him, find what he did, and slay him for it. Instead he committed a form of hara-kiri upon himself/committed suicide. By the time Conrad found him he was already dead. Returning to his sister, who was bleeding to death, Conrad told her everything would be okay, soothing her, calming her- that she was a dragon, she would regenerate. But both of them knew that would not be true, as her heart had been struck. The source of a dragon's rejuvination, and it had almost been run-through. He told her Lasuko was dead, and the shock of it, the insult of it, killed her.
Conrad's father found his children bloodied and still, and revived the daughter of his beloved wife with his own lifeforce, but it killed him. This he felt he had to do in order to win his late wife's forgiveness.
Satsuki awoke, an orphan and alone. Conrad told her that he had buried Lasuko, when really he had thrown his body in the river in fury.
From that moment on, Satsuki became withdrawn, then later bitter, hot-headed and angry and eventually... into what she was before she met Taro almost one thousand years later.
Recently Mutsumi, a powerful pure-blood dragon, has brought Lasuko back to life in order to use him in a cruel game against Satsuki. She's manipulated him into thinking that he was the victim and that Satsuki never loved him, betrayed him, and deliberately brought about his death. After all, she was still alive, wasn't she? Not dead as he had suspected. With the evidence stacked against her, Lasuko wants to make Satsuki's life a misery... at first. Until he feels his old feelings resurging, and almost twinfold when he sees how nice and gentle she has become with her family. He feels bitter jealousy towards Taro and wants him out of the picture, thinking that he and Satsuki were meant to be together and that he could accept her now, maybe. However no matter what he does, it will never be enough. Satsuki cannot and will not ever love him ever again. She knows what real love is, now that she has Taro, and knows that Lasuko never truly loved her, as he could never accept her for what she was. Even as Lasuko pictures a future for him and Satsuki, he pictures her human.
Taro would not think twice about killing Lasuko. Satsuki, too, would be the same with a minor hesitation. The hesitation being that she doesn't want to turn into him and really come across as the bad guy. Luckily for Taro and Satsuki, no blood will be on their hands when Lasuko's time finally comes.
Conrad suspects that Satsuki still has feelings for Lasuko, and watches them with a careful eye whenever they meet. He feels that Satsuki would be stupid enough to go with him, but he is drastically wrong and eventually apologises for his ridiculous suspicion. He also has to apologise to Emiko, for making her paranoid and for not listening to her whenever she told him to have faith in his sister.
Lasuko has the attitude that if he can't have Satsuki, nobody can. He will stop at nothing to reunite himself with her, even if it means possessing Satsuki to attack the one she loves...
emiko x conrad - info about the bashful couple
Emiko and Conrad met when Conrad turned up on Taro and Satsuki's doorstep, as she had, looking for a place to stay temporarily. Incidentally, he found himself unwanting to leave at the sight of the bashful yet beautiful young miko who greeted him at the door. From the moment they met, Conrad charmed her - originally just politely before he realised that his feelings ran much deeper.
After confessing their feelings under moonlight in the garden, they kissed and decided to secretly begin their relationship without telling their siblings.
Though Taro and Satsuki both suspect, Satsuki entertains the idea in her head only as an amusement, thinking that Emiko isn't her brother's type, or the kind of woman that would 'satisfy' him. Taro wishes to just observe but stay out of their love life, and doesn't think Suki is clever for finding it funny.
Due to Emiko's own concerns about keeping herself 'pure' and living by the morals she was raised to believe in as a miko, she's shy and fumbling around her new love, and Conrad sometimes has to go that step further so they're not totally at a stalemate. He would never push her into things, as he understands and loves her, but would sometimes give her a slight nudge so she knows something is okay.
Conrad ended that dire loneliness Emiko was beginning to feel and has given her a sparkle in her eye and a spring in her step. Emiko has helped Conrad talk through his insecurities about his father, something he hadn't ever told anyone, and feels he could tell her anything. Because she is so different to the women he'd seen before, he finds himself totally smitten around her, unsure of what each day will bring, and awkward and shy himself.

They must be drawn together
Ashe (older, black hair) and Nora (younger, white hair) are
nineteen-year-old twins, believe it or not. They are both
shapeshifters, however both only have one other form -
Ashe, a panther; Nora, a snow leopard. The two live in the
downtown part of the city, that feels almost "small town" -
where not many Supernaturals live, and share an apartment.
Their past is unclear, however they seem to have a wealthy
family who, for some reason, they no longer interact with.
A case of material goods given to them in place of love?

Ashe has chest-length black, voluminous hair. Despite the
fact that she dresses so, she doesn't act like a girly-girl. She
usually wears thick kohl eyeliner and slaps on the makeup.
Her left eye is grey, her right eye is green. She is
of average-height, and is slightly-busty and vivacious.
A bit of a bitch, she is the total opposite of her twin. She is
quick to be skeptical and finding the fault in things, she can
also be cutting when she wants to be. She likes being snooty
and using words otherwise too literate to use colloquially. She
has a major soft spot for her sister though, a kind of
sister complex, and will usually bend her will just to fit with
her sisters' needs, much as she hates it. She is very protective
of her. She is also protective of her things and believes she
has her own space/territory that should not be breached. Not
really interested in romance. Is usually very moody. She is
often exasperated with Nora, who comes up with schemes that
always fall through (i.e. running a shop) She's also very vulgar
and prone to swearing. Weary around strangers, she isn't very
good at socialising.
